• 95.8% of Georgia has an artificially fluoridated water-supply.1 Georgia Code Annex § 12-5-175 requires all municipalities to artificially fluoridate the water-supply, as long as the costs are covered by the state. Communities can opt-out by holding a referendum that achieves a simple majority (50% +1) and that 10% or more of registered voters cast ballots. Citizens who get a physician’s recommendation to stop using fluoridated water can get a tax-deduction for purchasing a filter to remove fluoride from their water.
